As we near the end, the sure word
of prophecy is emphatic that more and more light will shine from
the gospel of righteousness and the law of God:
“Moreover the light of the moon
shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall
be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the
Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke
of their wound” (Isaiah 30:26).

The work
of restoration to God... has not yet been done -

The best description of our situation as a Church is
made by Ellen White in her 1888 Materials, vol. 3, p.
955. She is cristal clear that “a departure from God”
has taken place in 1888, and the only choice left with
us is Baal.
More, the essential work to restoration with God “has
not yet been done,” and has to be done, if we
expect some reaction from heaven to our prayer effort.
Look at the passage:
“There has been a departure from God among us, and the
zealous work of repentance and return to our first love
essential to restoration to God and regeneration of
heart has not yet been done. Infidelity has been making
its inroads into our ranks; for it is the fashion to
depart from Christ, and give place to skepticism. With
many the cry of the heart has been, "We will not have
this man to reign over us." Baal, Baal, is the choice.
The religion of many among us will be the religion of
apostate Israel, because they love their own way, and
forsake the way of the Lord. The true religion, the only
religion of the Bible, that teaches forgiveness only
through the merits of a crucified and risen Saviour,
that advocates righteousness by the faith of the Son of
God, has been slighted, spoken against, ridiculed, and
rejected. It has been denounced as leading to enthusiasm
and fanaticism. But it is the life of Jesus Christ in
the soul, it is the active principle of love imparted by
the Holy Spirit, that alone will make the soul fruitful
unto good works. The love of Christ is the force and
power of every message for God that ever fell from human
lips. What kind of a future is before us, if we shall
fail to come into the unity of the faith?” (The 1888 EGW
Materials, 955).
And the next paragraph reads:
“When we are united in the unity for which Christ
prayed, this long controversy that has been kept up
through Satanic agency will end, and we shall not see
men framing plans after the order of the world because
they have not spiritual eye-sight to discern spiritual
things.”
Plans “after the order of the world” we have had enough.
What is needed today is a humble recognition that there
has been a “departure” from God, and deep sorrow for a
century of godliness without power. |

Here are the first lines of his
article:
It is a chilling historic fact,
testified to by the inspired voice
among us, that the latter rain once
began to fall within the Adventist
Church…and then stopped. The final
phase of the eschaton had begun…and
then was put on pause. Jesus was
about to come…and then His coming
was delayed. Assessing that history,
we read these sobering words:
“The time of test is just upon us,
for the loud cry of the third angel
has already begun in the revelation
of the righteousness of Christ, the
sin-pardoning Redeemer. This is the
beginning of the light of the angel
whose glory shall fill the whole
earth” (1888 Materials, p. 1073;
Review and Herald, Nov. 22, 1892).
But then,
“Satan succeeded in shutting away
from our people, in a great measure,
the special power of the Holy Spirit
that God longed to impart to them.
The enemy prevented them from
obtaining that efficiency which
might have been theirs in carrying
the truth to the world, as the
apostles proclaimed it after the day
of Pentecost. The light that is to
lighten the whole earth with its
glory was resisted, and by the
action of our own brethren has been
in a great degree kept away from the
world” (1888 Materials, p. 1575;
Selected Messages, vol. 1, p. 234).
“The Lord’s work has been hindered,
the sealing time delayed. Many have
not heard the truth. But the Lord
will give them a chance to hear and
be converted, and the great work of
God will go forward” (Manuscript
Releases, vol. 15, p. 292).
More than one hundred years have
passed since these convicting words
were penned. The fact that we are
still in this world says something.
The hour is more than late. It is
well passed time that we awake and
arise to fulfill our God-given
mission. “Knowing the time,…now it
is high time to awake out of sleep;
for now our salvation is nearer than
when we first believed” ( Romans
13:11).

Men... set in their ideas - Gili Cârstea

The main purpose of the plan of salvation is to
re-connect human nature with the divine, to make again
man partaker of the divine nature. This is a work of
creation, done by our High Priest in the Day of
Atonement for the living.
It was for this purpose that God sent a „most precious message” in
1888, but our people didn’t respond. Ellen G. White was
saddened to the extreme, and comented afterwards:
“Jesus
came to impart to the human soul the Holy Spirit, by
which the love of God is shed abroad in the heart; but
it is impossible to endow men with the Holy Spirit, who
are set in their ideas, whose doctrines are all
stereotyped and unchangeable, who are walking after the
traditions and commandments of men, as were the Jews in
the time of Christ” (The 1888 EGW Materials, 1224).
God’s
purpose hasn’t changed. Today or in the near future the
work has to be resumed, the message will come back to
this people. The human soul is to be endowed again with
the Holy Spirit. Has history any lessons for this
generation, people “set in their ideas” and whose
doctrines are likewise “stereotyped and unchangeable”? |

The
1888 Message and Its Advancing Glory

Here is a short presentation about what has gone wrong
in God’s family and needs to be corrected by the plan of
salvation.
Before the rebellion in heaven, every intelligent being
was part in a huge living network, through the Holy
Spirit. This is the foundation of God’s government, His
eternal purpose in creation, clearly stated in DA 161.
Every being is a holy temple for the indwelling of God,
and through the presence of the Holy Spirit, all have
access and are part of God’s magnificent world of love,
grace, joy, service, power, communication,
transportation, creation. All are connected to the
„source of life” by the presence of the Holy Spirit
dwelling in them.
A bright and holy seraph desired to change all that. He
presumed that this order is the way of slavery, a
barrier against real freedom, a kind of freedom that
would have made gods of everyone, as a birth right. He
spread the rummor that the partaking of the divine
nature was an obstacle against natural evolution towards
godhead. Lucifer decided to disconnect himself from the
source of life; many of the angels disconnected also,
hoping to obtain real freedom and become like God.
